Bureau d’Enquêtes et d’Analyses pour la sécurité de l’Aviation Civile
The BEA is the official French agency in charge of investigations on accidents and incidents of civil aviation. It is attached to the Ministry of Transport, Equipment, Tourism and Maritime the BEA "conducts its investigations and prepares reports in complete independence.

To fulfil its missions, the "BEA" now has 120 people including 30 investigators and 12 assistant investigators. It relies on a vast network of civil aviation personnel authorized investigators First Information (EPI). The "BEA" may, under its authority, the expertise available at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Defense, and Météo France, in industry, transport or among professionals.
