Continental Airlines took delivery of a new Boeing 737-900ER on 15th July 2009 to celebrate its 75th anniversary. Continental Airlines will fly the new Boeing 737-900ER to its three hubs for the anniversary celebration proceedings for employees and retirees. Representative of Continental Airlines hub in the future, the new retro-painted Boeing 737-900ER will be delivered operational with an advanced technology GPS Landing System (GLS). Continental Airlines is collaborating with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the FAA, Rockwell Collins and Gables to make this technology aboard the Boeing 737-900ER a reality.
