FlyLAL Lithuanian Airlines ceases operations

FlyLaL Lithuanian Airlines, the flag carrier of Lithuania based in Vilnius ceases operations on 17th January 2009 so as not to increase FlyLaL’s losses and worsen the situation of airline’s creditors. The unfair market conditions, high oil prices, and low demand for winter season flights forced FlyLaL to cease operations.
