Merge between Thai Airways and Tiger Airways

The airlines based in Thailand and Australia, Thai Airways and Tiger Airways respectively have announced that they will merge. The merge between Thai Airways and Tiger Airways has been announced on 2nd August 2010. Following this merge, Thai Airways and Tiger Airways will create a new company which will be named ‘Thai Tiger’. ‘Thai Tiger’ will be a low cost company that will start operating flights as from next year. The airline that will be created following the merge of Thai Airways and Tiger Airways will be based in Bangkok.
