On the occasion of the update of information on the luggage policy of 600 airlines, Air Valid makes an analysis on the policy of luggage of airlines. In an economic context of shrinking margins for airlines, luggage has become a source of additional revenue for airlines. As informed by the media about the rising fare of checked luggage, passengers take their precautions on the additional costs that may cost a few pounds extra or also the wrong dimensions of checked luggage. For example on a long haul flight to the Indian Ocean, an extra luggage of 10kg in economy class can cost around £84(€100) to £422(€500) depending on the airline which is about the price of an air ticket. To assist passengers in their decision before booking a flight on one airline over the other for the same trip Air Valid has put online since a few days back all information regarding the luggage policy for both checked and cabin luggage for more than 600 regular, charter and low cost airlines.
