Tap Portugal, the national airline of Portugal is the first airline to launch a program of Carbon compensation developed by IATA. Tap Portugal offers to its passengers the possibility to compensate Carbon emissions generated during their travels and contribute, by adhering to the program in partnership with IATA. The program of Carbon compensation of TAP Portugal developed by IATA, is the first to be launched globally in association with IATA, has developed a comprehensive program for the airline industry by offering reliable and transparent projects. This new Carbon compensation program developed by IATA is available since 5th June 2009, on the website of the Tap Portugal enables customers when making their booking online to compensate the unavoidable carbon emissions generated during their journey. The website of Tap Portugal makes available all information concerning the amount of CO2 emitted per passenger per flight which is developed by IATA.
