About Vietnam Airlines

Since its inception with only 5 planes in 1956, Vietnam Airlines has experienced dramatic changes to become the company it is today. Originally called "Civil Aviation of Vietnam", our company operates its first flight shortly after the nationalisation of the Gia Lam airport. Fifty-two years later, everything has changed: we have developed and expanded our range of services to become a company with an international dimension.

In the near future, Vietnam Airlines will become a strong economic group, helping the industrialisation, modernisation and contributing to national security.
With the air base, Vietnam Airlines will diversify its activities and will continue to modernise the company to become a modern and prestigious identity and embody the values of Vietnam.
Vietnam Airlines will become leader of its region in terms of quality and business-services.

Our efforts of the past 5 years to expand our network will continue to include many international and domestic destinations.

Our network currently covers 38 worldwide destinations in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. As for our domestic flights, they connect with each other 18 destinations.

We are constantly expanding our partnerships with regional and airlines throughout the world, offering a constantly broader and more complete network.Today, Vietnam Airlines has signed 89 agreements with international companies and 10 agreements with the following major carriers: Cathay Pacific - Korean Air - Singapore Airlines - China Airlines - China Southern Airlines - Japan Airlines - Philippine Airlines - Malaysia Airlines - Vietnam Airlines - American Airlines.
